One of a series of three greetings cards - from the original paintings 'Peace, Love and Unity'. Sustainably printed and packed in biodegradable cornstarch display bags, these cards give an eco-conscious statement in both their production and the word in the image.
The original 'Unity' was painted in empathy with those who have lost a loved one. I sign my work 'Unity', and have used the word as the central focus for this picture - unity of self, and for the world around us. The butterfly symbolises change and transformation – in entering a cocoon, a caterpillar must let everything he has ever known be left behind, and trust in a life filled with new possibilities and a whole new way of living.
