One of a series of three greetings cards - from the original paintings 'Peace, Love and Unity'. Sustainably printed and packed in biodegradable cornstarch display bags, these cards give an eco-conscious statement in both their production and the word in the image.
The original 'Peace' was painted in empathy with those who have lost a loved one. When somebody passes away our inner 'peace' is shaken and shifts. The letters are suspended as if in water, tendrils reaching for the light, in unison with nature and the world they have left behind. Her hair intermingles with the background, suggesting her connection to the wider world and the universe. Hair is important in many cultures for spiritual well-being, health and energy.
I sign my work 'Unity' a name I also use when dancing - unity of self, and my hope for the world around me.
